House Garess is a house of miners and craftspeople.
Garess had strong relations with the Golyushkin Dwarves until the majority of the Dwarves disappeared in the Disappearance.
The house is conservative and careful, but they allied with House Surtova at a reasonable speed.
Lord Howlan Garess, 57 (ari 5/exp 2) leads the house.
His heir is, strangely enough a dwarf; Toval Golka, 32 (dwarf) (ari 2, exp 4) who was named as adoptive heir after his kingdom vanished along with the Rogarvians and Howlan's son Bren. Toval had previously lived with Lord Howlan for the past 12 years during a diplomatic exchange of heirs between Garess and Golyushkin.
- Toval is much more open to change and new ideas than his father, but he needs to be careful lest he get himself assassinated.
Relation With the Other Houses (Diplomatic Relations)[]
Lebeda - POOR. After they broke off the engagement with Bren so soon after his disappearance, Lord Howlan has little trust for House Lebeda.
Lodovka - AVERAGE. Bitter seafolk.
Medvyed - GOOD. Trustworthy folk of the forests. Perhaps a little too protective of nature, but at least they have a cause and they stick to it.
Orlovsky - AVERAGE. Too conservative for their own good, the Orlovskys are noble folk and good to have on your side in an argument, but they are growing increasingly bitter. Civil war should be avoided at all costs, even if it means allying with the likes of Lebeda, Lodovka, and Surtova, Lord Poul should understand this.
Restov - AVERAGE. Dangerous city on the border, ruled by descendants of the Aldori Swordlords-- a place that must be watched carefully to maintain our national unity..
Surtova- AVERAGE. Our Rulers. Garess always swears fealty to the ones who command the country-- the strength of Brevoy depends on such loyalty.
